Privacy Notice

This notice explains what happens to your information when you use this website, proximity.com.my (the "Site"). The Site is currently a waitlist page. It is run by L Squared Brothers PLT (202604002045 (LLP0047285-LGN)), a limited liability partnership registered in Malaysia ("Proximity", "we", "us").

This notice covers the Site only. When the Proximity app launches, it will have its own privacy notice covering account data, matching, payments and anything else the app collects. The two are not the same document, because the app will hold far more than an email address.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you give us, and, if you choose to give it, the country and area or city you tell us you're in. Nothing on this field is required beyond your email.

If you're outside Malaysia, the Site also detects your country automatically, from standard routing information every website receives, so it can show you the right version of the waitlist form. That detection happens for every visitor, whether or not you sign up, and it is not saved anywhere. It exists only to decide what to show you in the moment.

What we don't collect

This Site does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers of any kind. We don't know how many times you've visited, what else you've looked at, or who you are beyond what you type into the waitlist form yourself. There are no accounts to create and nothing to pay for here.

Why we collect it

To email you when Proximity opens, either in Malaysia or, if you're elsewhere, in your area once we get there. If you tell us where you are, we also use that, in aggregate with everyone else's answer, to help decide which area we open next. We don't use your information to advertise to you anywhere else, and we don't sell it.

Where it's stored

Your waitlist entry is stored with Supabase, a database provider we use to hold this list. Only Proximity can read or write to it; the Site's own server is the only thing allowed to send data there, and it does so directly rather than through your browser. The Site itself is hosted with Vercel, which handles delivering these pages to you and, as a normal part of that, briefly sees your IP address and general location the way any web host does.

We don't share your waitlist entry with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist entry until you ask us to delete it, or until it's no longer needed for the reason you gave it to us, whichever comes first. If you sign up as a paying member of the app later, that's a separate signup with its own data, kept under the app's own privacy notice, not this one.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, for any reason. If you're in Malaysia, these are also your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Email us and we'll act on it.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We won't backdate a change or apply it to information we already hold without telling you first.
